Three Secrets to Achieve Goals

So what is the secret with achieving goals? Maybe you've reached some, but if you are like many you make big goals & then give up when it gets out of reach.   In my younger years I struggled for years with keeping consistent with exercise. Then the TV show Ninja Warrior came along where I trained for 30 days & completed most of the obstacles. The same thing happened with my financial life - for years I lived in fear of picking the wrong investments, but now with the power of FIRE I'm on track to reach financial freedom in 7 years so my daughters can model the behavior. Let's look at what works: Fun - Make it a game with rewards along the way. I love trying new craft beer, so for me that is a great incentive along the way to keep me motivated. I also love competition, so   challenging others can also help. Strong Desire - Having a powerful purpose drives our passion. Having a WHY is critical - the 80% vs. the how 20%. We need

Opportunities During COVID-19 Pandemic

For those that still haven't followed the severity of the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic from my previous posts, we're only a few days away of escalating to what Italy is experiencing, & you can see a video telling theirselves from days ago to stay the F home . In difficult times like these, I’m reminded of a great Winston Churchill quote: " A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty" And not an opportunity to be selfish or greedy, but to help those in these times of need. Being a tech geek allows me to help my colleagues, family, & friends use the digital tools they'll need while quarantined, so expect more info on my site Digital Beyond soon. To stay in shape I continue to share pictures/stats with my running club on the free app Strava. For our local finance group we'll meet virtually for our next meeting. And luckily most books have digital copies still av

Survive COVID-19 Stay Home Virtual Visit

My Doctor wife has been handling the influx of telemedicine patients today with Coronavirus symptoms & basically urging most of them to  http://staythefuckhome.com  (see my earlier post for more on that).  Unfortunately still many are unaware of how easy they can spread it to others, which is causing the crisis to grow exponentially every day. So what can we do to prevent the problem from becoming worse? Well besides above,  use the virtual resources you have at your disposal. The health care system in our area is currently offering FREE virtual visits at  https://go.baptisthealthcareondemand.net/care19/ . There are also many other resources being shared within the community while we fight through this.   As this continues to escalate, we know that mandatory quarantine is necessary & will happen just like it did in San Francisco yesterday & already in other cities/countries globally. If anyone is still unsure of the severity of this please reach out to m
